May 31, 2016 01:58PM ● By Finn Mc Farland
ArtisTree is a community arts center and gallery in South Pomfret offering year-round classes in art, music, and theater for community members of all ages and levels of experience.

Its affiliated branch, Purple Crayon Productions, offers a variety of classes and workshops for children age five and under. Weekly ballet classes promote coordination and motor development as children explore movement and rhythm. Music Together offers children and their parents the opportunity to explore music and sound together in this weekly session. This summer, Purple Crayon Productions and ArtisTree will also offer several camps for young children to explore art and the outdoors.

ArtisTree holds enrichment classes for youth as well, including a weekly Caribbean Steel Drumming class, open clay studio, and gymnastics instruction. Teens and adults can participate in art classes ranging from self-directed open studios to workshops with guidance and tips from a professional instructor. Weekly yoga classes are available for adults of all experience levels.

Each month, ArtisTree hosts a Script Club for adults to enjoy an afternoon of script reading and socializing. In addition to Script Club, ArtisTree will offer several theater classes and camps for students of all ages this summer.

In addition to private music lessons, students of all ages can participate in weekly or monthly open mic nights, drumming sessions, and brass, bass, and reed instrument instruction.

ArtisTree offers classes for students of all ages and experience levels. To learn more about the different classes offered, visit www.artistreevt.org.
