Woodstock Beverage Helps us Make the Perfect Pirate Punch Cocktail

Jul 10, 2017 05:01PM ● By Linda Ditch
Now that we are in the midst of summer, it’s time to break out the tropical cocktails to help cool things down. Or in this case, say, “Ahoy, matey!” and “Wet me pipe” with this refreshing Pirate Punch cocktail.

I got this recipe last year while on a cruise aboard the Carnival Dream from the ship’s beverage manager, Clifton Morrison. He said the drink should have a total of three ounces of liquor. I divided this measurement equally among the three he listed, but feel free to experiment with the amounts to get the taste you enjoy.

Mike McCarthy at Woodstock Beverage might have some different rum suggestions to pour into the mix. Perhaps a Vermont selection from Smugglers’ Notch Distillery or Dunc’s Mill? Or maybe a flavored rum such as mango, coconut, pineapple, or raspberry? The choice is up to you and your taste buds. Just don’t forget the umbrella!

Pirate Punch

Serves 1

1 oz Bacardi Superior Rum

1 oz Bacardi Ocho Rum

1 oz Amaretto

A splash of cranberry juice

A splash of pineapple juice

A splash of orange juice

Fill a tall glass with ice. Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Shake until you see a good foam. Pour over ice and garnish with a pineapple slice, cherry, and umbrella.

Stop by Woodstock Beverage and say hi to Mike for more recommendations!
