Aug 10, 2017 03:06PM ● By Linda Ditch
The annual Taste of Woodstock
street festival will take place this Saturday, August 12, from 10am to 9pm. Now in its eighth year, the event will feature approximately 40 restaurants, food vendors, beverage companies, and local organizations lined up along Elm Street to give visitors a chance to check out the best they have to offer.

Around 2,000 people attend almost every year.Elizabeth Finlayson, executive director of the Woodstock Area Chamber of Commerce, says, “We have the Barnard Inn Restaurant, Worthy Kitchen, The Prince & The Pauper, Bentley’s, and Pizza Chef all setting up on Elm Street. We also have Ana’s Empanadas, La Pizza Lupo, and Foster’s Fine foods, to name a few more. In addition, we’ll have Caledonia Spirits, Eden Iced Cider, Silo Spirits, Mad River Distillery, Kiss the Cow Farm, and Abracadabra Coffee Roasters. And Vermont Farmstead Cheese will bring two calves for petting!”

Elm Street will be closed off from Central Street to Pleasant Street. An area will be set up at the Central and Elm intersection so guests will have a place to rest, eat, and dance. There will be plenty of activities for the kids, including street chalk, crafts, animals, and a bouncy castle.

“This is a free event,” says Elizabeth. “People purchase items from each individual vendor. We have music from 10am to 9pm, free and open to all. Expect fun!"
