While waiting for the trees to finally bud, the bulbs to release their flowers, and the snow to melt, you can get a taste of spring at the Woodstock Farmers' Market. Buy asparagus, young lettuces, radishes, and more. Plus, there are plenty of hothouse tomatoes, berries, and tropical fruits to provide an early taste of summer.

April is also Fiesta Month at the market, so you can get everything you need to make guacamole, salsa, and your other Mexican favorites.

Even better, there are flowers galore in the market. Fill your house with tulips and daffodils to celebrate spring. Pots of pansies sit outside ready to go home with you, and there are bunches of flowers in just about every color imaginable.

Best of all, when that occasional warm spring day arrives, you can get everything you need for a picnic at the market. They offer a wide variety of sandwiches—I loved the Morty’s Italian—or they will make you a sandwich with your choice of meats, cheeses, bread, and all the fixings. You can also get ready-to-go entrées and salads, plus sweet bakery treats. Grab a beverage—or a bottle of wine—to complete your meal. There are also hot drinks available if there’s still a chill in the air.

A visit to the Woodstock Farmers’ Market is just what you need to get into the spirit of spring, especially on one of those cloudy, rainy days. It’s a lovely way to celebrate the end of winter and the promise of warmer weather to come.
