February vacation is just around the corner here in the Upper Valley! If you’re strapped for ideas to keep the kids occupied, you may want to explore Woodstock and the surrounding area for a good, old-fashioned staycation. The Upper Valley has plenty of options for families to enjoy in February. We've put together a list of the top places to check out during February vacation.

Get Your Sweat on at the River Valley Club

There are so many activities at the The River Valley Club (RVC). If you’re looking to get a workout in, you can also take advantage of the kid's programs. Kids Club offers drop-in services for members and non-members utilizing Club facilities. The program is the perfect place to play and be creative for even the youngest Club members.

There is also the FitKids Childcare service at the club. FitKids is a Licensed Plus childcare center, which recently expanded in 2016. The center has a unique, natural playground, creative curriculum, and its partnership with River Valley Club provides families with the best possible services and amenities in the area.

You can also find specific activities for your kids, like the Stroke + Turn aquatics program, designed for children who have learned all four competitive strokes. Students will refine and perfect stroke technique, including flip turns and racing starts and finishes.

River Valley Club is located in Centerra Park in Lebanon, 33 Morgan Drive. It offers industry-leading personal training, more than 100 group fitness classes per week, CrossFit, nutritional guidance, and aquatics programs for all ages and fitness levels, and an Aveda Concept day spa and hair salon.

Pies and Pastas and Monkey Bread, Oh My!

The Baking School at King Arthur Flour welcomes all bakers, no matter their age. During February vacation, there are three kids’ classes, teaching how to bake pies, make rainbow pasta, and bake monkey bread.

Learn to make a pie with your favorite baker, while King Arthur Flour cleans up the mess! You'll make pie crust from scratch, roll it, fill it and bake it, then take home your masterpiece! The tuition of $95 covers one adult and one child. This event takes place Monday, Feb. 18, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Next, spend the day making colorful pasta with your favorite chef! You'll sample and go home with fun and festive pasta you made yourself and the skills to recreate it at home. The tuition of $95 covers one adult and one child. The class takes place Tuesday, Feb. 19, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Finally, spend the day monkeying around with your favorite baker. You'll go home with two varieties of monkey bread and the skills to recreate them at home. The tuition of $95 covers one adult and one child. Join in on the fun on Wednesday, Feb. 20, from 1 to 4 p.m.

King Arthur Flour is nestled in the heart of Norwich. Connected to the school is a bakery and retail store, so you can shop for baking essentials and enjoy a warm cinnamon bun outside in the fresh air of the courtyard.
