Woodstock Apples & Crafts Fair Celebrates its 45th Year

Oct 05, 2017 04:06PM ● By Linda Ditch
If you like apples and crafts made by local artisans, be sure to check out the Woodstock Apples and Crafts Fair this weekend. Woodstock Recreation Center Executive Director Gail Devine says they expect 100 juried craftspeople and specialty food producers to participate in the event, which is celebrating its 45th year. Along with all things apple, there will be booths featuring items such as handmade soaps, art, photography, maple products, wool products, handmade jewelry, and clothing.

This is the major fundraising event for the Woodstock Recreation Center, which serves five local communities with a wide range of programs in sports, arts, and education for all ages. Approximately 3,000 to 5,000 people attend the fair each year. Many of the participants will offer craft demonstrations along with items for sale. If you’re hungry, there will be homemade soups, chili, ice cream and fudge—plus apples—to satisfy your appetite.

The fun takes place at Bailey’s Meadow (Route 4 East across from the Worthy Kitchen) on Saturday from 10am to 5pm and Sunday from 10am to 4pm. (Cars will be let in at 9:45am both days.) The fun happens rain or shine! Admission is $4 per person, with kids 12 and under admitted free. Bus groups are welcome.
